Mt Lyell Summit (13,114)
Yosemite National Park, Sierra Nevada- 3 days

A Yosemite high country Sierra backpacking and mountain adventure to the summit of Yosemite's highest peak - Mt. Lyell. A challenging trip for those looking for an off trail adventure deep into Yosemite's high country.

We leave out of spectacular Tuolumne Meadows in the Yosemite high country and hike south through the incredible Lyell Canyon to our base camp. After a pre-dawn start the next day we embark on an off trail hike and scramble to the highest point in Yosemite. It is a long day of hiking and scrambling that is rewarded with fantastic view of the Yosemite wilderness. The summit of Mt. Lyell takes us across the Lyell Glacier, the largest in Yosemite.

The climb of Mt. Lyell is a very easy one, suitable for those with backpacking and off trail hiking skills. Some basic rock scambling may be required as well as good stamina. A great adventure for those who seek the skills to venture away from the trails. We guide this trip at a lower ratio of one guide for three guests due to the nature of the terrain.
