Mont Blanc - where it all began.
The race to the summit of Mont Blanc near Chamonix back in the late 1700's is when many consider the sport of mountain climbing began. The highest peak in Western Europe is still a worthy achievement for any mountaineer.
To prepare for our ascent of Mont Blanc, we do numerous
training and acclimating climbs in the Chamonix area. Our training
climbs are to get everyone prepared for the summit attempt
of Mont Blanc as well as to acclimate properly. Training
climbs in Chamonix include the Aiguille Rouge and the Aiguille du Midi area as well as others as conditions dictate.
Once dialed in on climbing in the alps, it's on to Mont Blanc
itself. We will ascend the well known Gouter Route in a two day
climb in which we will stay in the Gouter or Tete Rousse Hut. The ascent
of the Gouter Route on Mont Blanc involves some rock scambling as well as moderate glacier and snow climbing. Summit day on Mont Blanc is a long day of climbing with awesome views.
A great short introduction into climbing in the Alps with an opportunity to tick off the famous summit of Mont Blanc.
CAG/IAG owner and IFMGA/UIAGM internationally
