Bridgeport Area
Travel Information
Bridgeport
is located in the Northern High Sierra Nevada near
the fantastic Sawtooth Range. The Sawtooths are home
to our summer and winter Sierra mountaineering program.
While attending one of our Sierra mountaineering courses
or ski touring courses Bridgeport is the closest town.
Below are travel directions to Bridgeport and some
useful area information while visiting the area.
Travel
Directions To Bridgeport
Orange County,
San Bernardino and San Diego:
Take I-15 north over the Cajon Pass toward Victorville.
Then take Hwy 395 through Ridgecrest, north to Bishop
and on to Bridgeport.
Los Angeles:
Take I-5 north to State Route 14 which will take you
through Mojave and intersect with Hwy 395 . Head north
to Bishop and on to Bridgeport.
Las Vegas:
Take Hwy 95 north to Hwy 266 west; turn slight left
to State Route 168 to Hwy 395. Go north at Hwy 395.
San Francisco & Sacramento:
You have several options and all involve
crossing the Sierra. You take Hwy 50 to 89, south
to 88 and south to Hwy 395 in Minden. You can cross
the Sierra on Hwy 88 off Hwy 99 through Jackson, past
Kirkwood over the Carson Pass and on to Minden and
Hwy 395. Then it's South on Hwy 395
Reno (the closest major airport):
Very easy. Go South on Hwy 395 for 2 hours.
