The best way to check for availability and to reserve your spot on one of our courses is to email or give us a call. Speaking with us will assist in matching your goals, physical conditioning, and experience to a trip which is appropriate for you.

To reserve space on a trip: Go to our Secure Online Registration. It is available to send us your payment information and other registration details.

What's Required

Domestic Trips
A $200 deposit per person is required to reserve space. Full payment is due 30 days prior to the trip start date.


International Trips (and Alaska)
A $500 deposit per person is required to reserve space (or half of trip cost, whichever is lower) Full payment is required 90 days prior to the trip start date.

Keep in mind that reserving a spot with a deposit is with no obligation outside of the cancellation period! (See below)


Cancellation and Refund Policy

Domestic Trips
Prior to 30 days before trip, entire course fee and deposit is refunded. Within 30 days before trip NO REFUND can be made.


International trips (and Alaska)
Prior to 90 days before trip entire course fee and deposit is refunded. 60 to 90 days prior a 50% cancellation fee is required. Within 60 days before trip NO REFUND can be made.

Transfer Fees
You may transfer your balance to another scheduled trip within the "no cancellation" period when we receive a $50 non-refundable transfer fee. No transfers can be made within 48 hours of start of trip. Policy does not apply to international trips.

Cancelled or Underbooked Trips
California Alpine Guides LLC reserves the right to cancel or reschedule trips due to inadequate sign-ups or for other unforeseen circumstances.

In the event a scheduled trip has inadequate sign-up you will be given the option to pay a 25% surcharge to allow CAG to still run the trip. This is at CAG discretion. Otherwise the trip could be cancelled and you will receive a full refund.

You will receive a full refund when the course is cancelled more than 48 hours before the start date. However, CAG is not responsible for additional expenses such as airline tickets, car rentals, equipment...etc. It is recommended you obtain trip cancellation insurance to protect yourself.

Weather Credits
California Alpine Guides LLC reserves the right to cancel or reschedule trips due to severe weather or other uncontrollable environmental circumstances that make the trip unsafe to continue. NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE DUE TO WEATHER AND UNCONTROLLABLE ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS. A weather credit, or partial weather credit, can be issued for a trip that has been cancelled or rescheduled within 48 hours of start date due to weather or environmental conditions. This decision is solely at the discretion of the trip leader and/or the directors of CAG.
Note: Weather credits are in-house credits that can be used on any similiarily priced CAG scheduled trip within one year of date of issue. They are only valid on courses that are operated by CAG. They are non-trasnferable. No extensions beyond the one-year expiration date. Weather credits cannot be used on and are not issued for international trips.
